The market is full of tools that find vulnerabilities. Far fewer help you fix them safely and prove it. When you evaluate a remediation platform, these five questions cut through quickly.
1. How do you decide what to fix first?
Look for prioritisation based on reachability, exploitability, business criticality and attack paths — not severity alone. Ask to see the reasoning for a specific ranking.
2. What do you actually deliver to the owner?
A ticket with advice, or a prepared, reviewable change — an upgraded dependency, rebuilt image or code change — delivered through existing pipelines?
3. How are changes approved and tested?
Can you set approval rules per environment? Is there pre-release regression testing? Can production changes require a named approver?
4. How do you prove a fix worked?
Ticket closure is not proof. Ask whether the platform re-scans to confirm closure and records every decision, approval and result in an audit-ready trail.
5. Where does our data go?
Can it run in your environment, with a local AI model if needed? Does it work alongside your existing tools rather than replacing them?
